direct entry of plus/minus error in data cell?

Hello to all and thanks for any possible help.  Does Gnumeric (or any other spreadsheet) allow for the direct entry of +/- uncertainty with data (and deeper still, calculate propagation) into a cell?  It would speed up my lab reports if this is possible and someone could show the way.  Thanks again - EU
