Recent files - possible bug

Hi.

When I open a file that isn't defined as a spreadsheet (for example,
txt files) in Gnumeric 1.6.3, it doesn't appear in the recent files.
This means if I have to open it, I have to open it again, and can't
just choose it in the list.
Is this the planned behavior? (Why?)
If not, is this fixed in 1.7 or should I open a bug?
