To date I've used jhbuild with a customized patchset and mingw as a
cross compiler to do the win32 build.  It is definitely possible to
build with Vstudio, just lots of work.  The payoff would be
debugability.  The downside would be that you'd need to build much
of the stack yourself.  gtk/glib have vstudio projects included, the
rest of the stack does not.

I'll get the jhbuildmoduleset into SVN this week hopefully that will
give you some hints.  We would be happy to host your work, a vstudio
project would be quite useful.
