If you are willing to link libgnumeric against gtk and it's
depenencies then we're within spitting distance.  The only limiting
factor would be getting the headers to install cleanly.
Additionally there are two other forces at work.

1) The win32 port needs a libgnumeric to define an api for the
   plugins to link against.
2) There are people interested in supporting --without-gtk

Is there a road-map of what needs doing?
