All plot in gnumeric are very "bad looking ". Is it possible to
integrate gnumeric with xmgrace data plot program. For example by
sending marked data directly to xmgrace and plot it there.
- While you can easily export data from gnumeric in formats that
grace can understand, we have no plans to improve the binding
beyond that unless someone contributes a patch. Our experience
with external plotting applications has not been good. Guppi had
a nice engine, but there was too much coupling between gnumeric
and the charting engine to provide a comfortable user experience.
Before embarking on writing yet another engine I looked into the
the available set (grace was not checked because as far as I know
it does not have a library). None of them produced something we
could use.
- Could you expand on 'bad looking' ? The charting engine is
certainly not as strong as I'd like, but it is improving.
Bug reports and patches are welcome.
