I must agree with the comments about the comment triangle .....

However - has anyone any thoughts about how you can extract the comments
or print them as per my original question ?

I ended up viewing the gnumeric file using less in an xterm, and
searching for the cell number and copying and pasting into a second
sheet! (all the while thinking there must be an easier way!)
