I am trying (for the first time) to install gnumeric in my home directory from
CVS on Mandrake 10.0 and have run autogen. Now I have a few questions since I am
not succeeding yet.
1. What is the autoconf macro directory? I placed codeset.m4 etc in the
/usr/share/autoconf/ directory but I take it that is not the autoconf macro
directory. Where might that be?
2. In response to: consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them, I tried:
[bob penrose scratch_dir]$ export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/lib/
[bob penrose scratch_dir]$ echo $PKG_CONFIG_PATH
/usr/lib/
prior to autogen but still received the above comment on trying autogen. What now?
3. Package libgsf-gnome-1 was not found. I have installed
libgsf-1_1-1.8.2-1mdk.i586.rpm and libgsf-1_1-devel-1.8.2-1mdk.i586.rpm
and in /usr/lib there is
libgsf-1.so.1
libgsf-gnome-1.so.1.8.2
libgsf-1.so.1.8.2
libgsf-gnome-1.so.1
do I need something else or is it just not finding them due to 2.?
Thanks for the help, Bob
