Installing gnumeric

I installed AbiWord in my Windows 98 computer and am very happy with it. I
would like to try gnumeric
so I downloaded "LATEST-IS-1.0.13.tar.gz" and "LATEST-IS-1.0.13.tar". I
unzipped them but I'm not a programer and I don't have a clue how to install
it. Is there step by step instructions anywhere that can help me? I read
the INSTALL file but don't know how to do the things it says to do.

I wish you all the best on this project. It's nice that great minds are also
