text orientation and next pango

Hi all,

An enhancement often requested in gnumeric is orientated text.
As Jody has already explained, this is dependent of pango (pango does
not support orientated text right now).

There has been a post on footnotes concerning the next gtk(2.3),
glib(2.3) and pango(1.3). However, there has been no mention of text
orientation in pango-1.3.

Does anybody know if it is in their TODO list for pango-1.4 ?
If no, I think it is perhaps the time to push the request.
A possible think is to post a request in BugZilla and vote for it.
Or directly contact pango's developers.

It would really be nice to see this feature in the next gnumeric !
