I use Gnumeric 1.1.16, I have used it quite some time, and it works
very well, almost. I use it to set up and fill in my budget and
finace, my privat echonomy. I open the file, punch in some new
numbers, and save/close the file and Gnumeric.

But one day, when I open the file, only 10% of the file was left!
I have made a copy of the file and attached it. It seems that when I
last used Gnumeric, and saved the file, something bad happened. I got
no errormessage or warning. No indication at all.

I am 95% sure that it was not a crash, and Gnumeric was closed as
normal.

This is the first I've heard of anything like that. The file offers
some clues, but nothing concrete. It seems to end in the middle of
an xml element and without closing the gzip stream. Which would be
consistent with a crash, its hard to guess what content immediately
following the style regions would have caused breakage. Had you
just made changes on the 2nd Sheet (RegnskapJan) ?

I am very careful not to use any other program when running Gnumeric,
because I used to have lookups when running Gnumeric and Mozilla on
two different workspaces. And when I switched between them , the
system frooze. This bug is now gone, but I am still careful.

I have admit that my Mozilla kept freezing my system at this time, but
I am still quite sure it was not a crash/freeze when this happend. But
if no other solution comes up....

I had 5 sheets: Budsjett (Budget), Regnskap2003 (Accounting),
RegnskapJan, RegnskapFeb and RegnskapMar. I am certian that I made
changes in RegnskapMar, and that would have updated some numbers in
Regnskap2003 too. But I do not think I changed anything in RegnskapJan
or in Budsjett.

As I said, this bug-report is nasty, becuase I can't remeber details
:-(

Hope this might give you a clue....
