Hi,
in Jp's coupdays2.gnumeric test file the following answers are given (by
XL):
COUPDAYS ("2/6/06","21/9/08",1,2) == 360
COUPDAYS ("2/6/06","21/9/08",2,2) == 180
COUPDAYS ("2/6/06","21/9/08",4,2) == 90
COUPDAYS ("2/6/06","21/9/08",1,3) == 365
COUPDAYS ("2/6/06","21/9/08",2,3) == 182.5
COUPDAYS ("2/6/06","21/9/08",4,2) == 91.25
Using XL5.0a on a Macintosh I get:
COUPDAYS ("2/6/06","21/9/08",1,2) == 365
COUPDAYS ("2/6/06","21/9/08",2,2) == 182
COUPDAYS ("2/6/06","21/9/08",4,2) == 90
COUPDAYS ("2/6/06","21/9/08",1,3) == 365
COUPDAYS ("2/6/06","21/9/08",2,3) == 182
COUPDAYS ("2/6/06","21/9/08",4,2) == 90
Could people please try this on their versions of XL and let me know
their results (plus XL version).
Thanks
Andreas
PS: currently gnumeric gives the same answers as my version of XL, since
I used that as a measuring stick and I don't understand fractional
numbers of days. On the other hand the `360' answer makes much more
sense to me then the 365 answer I got for basis=2.
I assuming I did this right by changing the dates to:
6/2/06 and 9/21/08
on the Office 97 version of Excel I get:
360
180
90
365
182.5
90 (although I get 91.25 if I do: COUPDAYS ("2/6/06","21/9/08",4,3) -
I'm guessing you made a typo above).
Dave
