To follow up as well....the URL was actually
ftp://gnome.org/pub/GNOME/unstable/sources/libole2/
And how does one login to the ftp server...when I attempt to login
anonymously it does not allow me to do so....Thanks again

Thanks Dave...
Ok I have libxml all installed...now when I type ./configure in Gnumeric
I receive the following error:
Configure Error: This version of Gnumeric requires an external libole2
library the latest version can be obtained from
ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/unstable/sources/
Are you familiar with this error? Do I need to just go get the latest
libole2 and install it? Please let me know thanks

Thanks....Now when I go to upgrade to libxml 1.8.12 I receive the
following error:
Error failed dependencies:
Libxml=1.8.10 is needed by libxml-devel-1.8.10-0_helix_1
Can anybody help me on how to get past this error? thanks

Looks like you grabbed the rpm for libxml 1.8.12 - look and see if you
can find the libxml-devel 1.8.12 rpm also. You may also first remove
libxml-devel-1.8.10-0_helix_1 (rpm -e libxml-devel), but that could
potentially break other things (rpm should complain rather than
removing it). I'd first try to find the libxml-devel-1.8.12 rpm and
install them both on the same command line:
rpm -Uvh libxml*.rpm
HTH,
Dave
