Trying to install gnumeric 0.61 from ximian

Help,

        I am trying to install Gnumeric 0.61 when I use the Helix gnome
updater it
downloads gnumeric but when it tries to install it, it generates the
error 'There was
a conflict attempting to install this update libgal.s0.3 is needed by
gnumeric 0.61-
0-helix-1'

        What do I need to install to provide this library? I am also
expecting problems 
with the gnome print module. I have been around the houses trying to
install the 
latest gnumeric, and have only succeeded in breaking some other gnome
applications

        I am running RedHat 6.0 and Helix gnome. Appreciate help and
suggestions
