There was recently a fix, that made Gnote perform significantly better
with very long notes. It's not yet out for public use, so there is a
performance issue with very long notes.

Gnote is designed to be a note-taking application, not as some
knowledge base or word processor. In that sense, Gnote is not designed
to have extremely large collections of notes (thousands) or very large
notes (tens of pages). Within these limits it should work well in all
cases.
