Sorry Damien,
I will try to look into bug 119611, its just that I have little
knowledge in the whole debugging trade.
I was sure you got the time, thanks for pointing it out.
I am not sarcastic here. I want Ekiga to work, and will find time to
learn how to understand gdb.

Can you check your -d 4 output? Without that we can not make progress
and determine what happens.
What I would think is that the IP address changes, Ekiga tries
registering the new IP address before the binding expires on Asterisk's
side (which is normal), and Asterisk reports "forbidden" (Asterisk
doesn't accept that you register with a new IP address, if the old IP
address is still registered).
If so, you will have to change your configuration to make sure that
Ekiga doesn't change of IP, or to make sure Asterisk allows this (I know
it doesn't, and it is a big limitation of the default configuration).
PS: I have one Ekiga registered to Asterisk since 4 weeks now.
PS2: Please do not send me a 1MB -d 4 output file, and help me. I'm
really busy with office work, FOSDEM, ekiga, so when you report
something, please do 90% of the work of investigation and don't rely on
me alone to do it. That's simply too much for me.
The last PS2 is really a remark to everyone. I often receive mails like
this: "I have a problem, it doesn't do X or Y, here is a debug 4
output". And the debug 4 output has several hundreds of lines of debug,
and I have to find the problem out of it. It really helps me if you
already isolated the problem yourself.

Hi,
could anyone help me with that: I log Ekiga into my Asterisk Server. (To
integrate the softphones with my Hardware SIP Infrastructure)
Everything is fine - I can issue and take calls, but after a while Ekiga
disconnects from Asterisk. The number of registered accounts goes down and in
the account menu the account showes "disconnected".
If I try to reconnect from the account menu I get "forbidden" or "Registration
failed" ("Anmeldung fehlgeschlagen")
This goes on until I close Ekiga and come back. Then in nearly all cases it
connects automatically and stays like that for the next e.g. 10-15 Min.
This is my configuration:
- 3x Ekiga
-- 1x remote without NAT - over the Internet directly to Asterisk
-- 1x local LAN without NAT directly to Asterisk
-- 1x behind NAT (Linux router) and then over the Internet to Asterisk
All behave the same - so NAT couldn't be the issue could it.
- Timeout 180 sec (no avail changing it) - too much lets Asterisk loose
patience.
- Asterisk config: sip.conf (I configure from database - so that looks like
that - the whole line)

What's wrong - what can I do.
Asterisk generally works- I have no problem at all with my two SIPura
adapters. They work with not a single interruption since I installed them.
What a pity Ekiga doesn't :-( Perhaps it is more picky and I have to set an
option in the Asterisk config - but which one?
Thank you for any hints
Conrad
