Are you using Windows or Linux?

I get the same issue on with nearly every VoIP client on Windows. If I
start doing other stuff on the same machine, clicks and breaks starts
occurring in the audio. 

I don't think this is a jitter problem, I think it has to do with the
priorities of the processes reading and writing to the audio device. But
I'm not sure.
