Thanks for your info.
I shall soon try to recompile gnomemeeting with various libraries
you mentioned.
More than half a year I have used Orange Micro's ipod with
GM, on kernel 2.4.  Recently, I tried to upgrade to 2.6,
and encountered with GM freezing trouble.  Not only the firewire
side, but the opposite side gets troubled.

I know Matsumoto's url.  I read his explanation, and I started
monitoring datche with ffmpeg.  It works great.

The quality of Logitech QC4000 is still better than
cheap ieee1394 cameras, though.
