try running 
"GCONF_DISABLE_MAKEFILE_SCHEMA_INSTALL=1 make install" and afterwards
make sure that your schema is installed to your user's gconfd
installation by gnomemeeting-config-tool or gconftool-2..

The GCONF_DISABLE_MAKEFILE_SCHEMA_INSTALL=1 will at least get rid of the
error. Maybe someone should take the time and track down why
--disable-install-schemas passed to configure doesn't set this.
