Thanks Damien! Now I understand a bit better what NetMeeting does!

Yes, we did not change the codec order on Windows XP.

Both! We do not hear anything and no voice channels are opened.
There is no message showing the name of a voice codec in the "chronic view".

I could only get MS-GSM working between NetMeeting and GnomeMeeting.
We could not get both systems to use GSM-06.10.

In general the quality with MS-GSM is very low, especially compared to Speex
8kBit/s (that we both tried out under NetMeeting). With MS-GSM we always
get a strange, annoying "bubble sound" in the background. - I love diving, but
not when I want discuss serious topics over a VoIP connection.

I already had a look at GnomeMeeting's debugging output, but it simply
shows that the problematic codecs (GSM-06.10 and Speex) do not seem to
fit somehow. Are these codecs not "compatible"? If yes, how can I make them
interoperating?
