Hi!

I have a little ide. Why use the GM the hw device? Why can't use the 
"default" (like xmms). If the GM use "default" plugin I can redeclare it 
my .asoundrc or /etc/asound.conf, and I can put it some plugin (like 
dmix,dsnoop or asym for dull duplex transfer). this work with xmms (I can 
play some sound (2-3 sound source), and record (with arecord) same time.

(the native DMIX support is good, because it's more complicated, in this 
solution the user configure their devices an mixers)
Only needed to add "default" plugin not the hw:X,X.

I think this solve many problem.
