Hello,

As i'm currently completely lost with firewire configuration for the pwlib
and openh323 libraries, I'm writing to this list hoping that someone could
help me as I saw some mails here regarding firewire configuration...

So, my camera is this one http://www.linux1394.org/cgi-bin/view_device.cgi?id=17
and kino and dvgrab works well (dvcont too).
Unfortunately, ohphone doesn't work (I try to get ohphone running before getting
GM running :). As it is mentionned on Debian website, the
pwlib and openh323 libraries are compiled in order to support firewire. So if
first try ohphone after apt-get update && apt-get install those packages.
As ohphone I didn't work, I remove them and download pwlib 1.4.7 and openh323
1.11.2, and compiled them. Of couse I set TRY_1394DC to 1 (ans i can see that
the compilation occurs with -DTRY_1394DC, so I assume that all is going well.
So I compile ohphone and it didn't work. I launch it with
"Arguements are -ln --videotest --videoreceive x11 --videodevice
/dev/video1394 -tttt -o log.txt"
And in log.txt I found

You say the other proggies work fine, but they don't really use the libdc1394 library which pwlib needs for your camera. Could you try coriander and see if it detects your camera? And to go back to debugging your problem: What is your firewire configuration? What I mean to ask is: How many devices do you have on your firewire bus? How many firewire cards? Actually could just run the program "romtest" that can be found in the "test" subdirectory from the libavc1394 tarball? You wouldn't need to install the library, a mere compilation would be enough.

So what is going wrong ?
