Ok, just facts.
Yes, RedHat broken binary compat, that is why they called the thing RH9,
and not RH8.1.
And about the change it getpid() returning the same value in all threads
that is in fact a long awaited bug fix. The getpid() call is supposed to
return the process id, and that should be the same in all threads, as
they are part of the same process. So the fact that it returned
different values previously is a bug.

Btw, I have nothing to do with RedHat (to the point I do not use it
myself). But they should not be blamed for fixing getpid().
