Hello

Thanks for your reply.

1) SuSE 8 ships with GM version 0.1.2.2

2) Doing lsmod gives the following (this being the setting I had when I could
send but not receive sound).

(...)
usb-uhci 20996 0 (unused)
8139too 13504 2
mii 1040 0 [8139too]
snd-via686 7844 0
snd-pcm 61728 0 [snd-via686]
snd-timer 11008 0 [snd-pcm]
snd-ac97-codec 26160 0 [snd-via686]
snd-mpu401-uart 3216 0 [snd-via686]
snd-rawmidi 12800 0 [snd-mpu401-uart]
snd-seq-device 3984 0 [snd-rawmidi]
snd 30312 0 [snd-mixer-oss snd-via686 snd-pcm snd-timer
snd-ac97-codec snd-mpu401-uart snd-rawmidi snd-seq-device]
usbcore 55136 1 [usb-uhci snd]
soundcore 3268 1 [snd]
ide-scsi 7648 0
reiserfs 158816 1

3) I found no entries

alias usb-hostadapter usb-uhci
alias usb-hostadapter usb-ohci

 in /etc/modules.conf.

4) I didn't point out that I had aRts disabled. The output of alsaconf is -as
far as I can see- haphazard. I will upgrade to 8.1 and I will then upgrade
GnomeMeeting (;-)
