I think so , too. There were some people who reported problems using
RedHat 8.0 and GnomeMeeting. Their system crashed and they (told that
they) had to reboot - I couldn't ever test it here. I neither use RedHat
nor I've got some CDs available here. But I think it is an interesting
issue. 
GnomeMeeting can't crash the whole system thus I suppose there is a
driver (kernel) conflict.
Maybe RedHat uses some different (strange?) parameters during
bootstrapping when the drivers are loaded. Maybe you just have to tell
your system some additional parameters (lilo and append="xxx"), I don't
know, but it should be interesting to test.
The only reason for my guesswork is the fact that only RedHat users
reported this problem.
