I'm not very fond of that kind of setup... That complicates things and
once the GUI is hidden, you don't have the possibility to easily call it
back to give a call.

I know real notification are icons should only appear to notify of an
event. But I'm against that approach because I find it
counter-intuitive, and it doesn't permit you to show/hide the GUI
easily.
