Dear
interns,
Hope you are enjoying your internships and thank you
all for blogging about your work!
Let's hold an IRC meeting at 2pm UTC on Tuesday, June
26 on the #gnome-women IRC channel so that you can all
meet each other, discuss your work, and ask any
questions you might have. We have interns from Osaka,
Japan to Stanford, California, USA, which means there
is no time that would work well for everyone. 2pm UTC
is the time that avoids the middle of the night. Here
is what it will be in your location:
11pm Osaka - 1 intern
7:30pm am New Delhi - 1 intern
5pm Helsinki - 1 mentor
4pm Brussels, Freiburg, Gothenburg, Hanover, Liberec,
Mantova, Maribor, Skopje, Toulouse - 5 interns, 6
mentors
3pm London - 1 intern, 1 mentor
11am Rio de Janeiro - 1 intern
10am North Carolina, Toronto, Carrollton, Boston - 3
interns, 3 mentors
9am Chicago, Detroit - 2 interns
8am Paonia - 1 mentor
7am Stanford - 1 intern
Mentors, people helping with organizing the program,
and interns from previous rounds are welcome and
encouraged to attend too!
Proposed Agenda:
- Introductions from everyone
interns: your name, where you are from, your
education and recent projects you worked on, your
internship project, whether you are attending GUADEC
interns from previous rounds: your name, where you
are from, your education, your internship project,
what you are currently working on in GNOME and/or
outside, whether you are attending GUADEC
mentors: your name, where you are from, what project
you are mentoring, what you are currently working on
in GNOME and/or outside, whether you are attending
GUADEC
everyone else: your name, where you are from, your
involvement with the program, what you are currently
working on in GNOME and/or outside, whether you are
attending GUADEC
- Interns discussing what they learned and
accomplished in the first month of the internship, and
what they are working on now
- Advice people would like to share
- General discussion
Please feel free to propose other topics of discussion
for the meeting. I will forward the log of the meeting
to these lists afterwards, so that people who missed
it will see it and so that everyone can refer to it
later.
Of course you are all welcome to use #gnome-women for
discussion any time!
Cheers,
Marina
