We make use of Wordpress. Could you mention this to the Wordpress
people?
I thought "comments are closed" should be working. Only issue sometimes
is that people limit comments to @gnome.org addresses or people with a
blogs.gnome.org userid. That UI is not great.

I wasn't sure if I should complain to Gnome or Wordpress, but I've
seen it done successfully on other blogs, and I feel like the
webmaster needs to make sure their blog software of choice is sane as
well (and especially not have major UI issues on the site of a group
that does major UI work). I'll point it out to them as well.
Sorry to come off so negatively, but it's extremely annoying when that
happens, which is why I consider it such a big UI no-no.
