You are right. I must have picked the wrong browser when I went to test

The difference between the main site and d.g.o is that the main site is
using content negotiation to send the logo, while d.g.o is directly
referencing the .png file. Since IE claims that it prefers GIFs to
PNGs, it gets the GIF logo, which has transparency it can handle.
It doesn't look like content negotiation is enabled for d.g.o though,
since the following URL gives a 404:
