I think it should redirect to gtk.gnome.org.  This allows it to continue to 
be used by those who choose to keep a 'GTK pure' mindset (a soon to be 
disappearing group according to your recent email), while introducing 
newcomers to GTK as part of the GTK/GNOME environment.  gtk.gnome.org then 
becomes a site with two main purposes;
 1) to provide developer content about GTK (including release
    announcements, tutorials, and other documentation)
 2) to provide more general GTK information (including the GTK
    view of a combined app list, the GTK view of advogato diaries
    of GTK developers, and the GTK view of a gnotices news board)
