I think you've hit the nail on the head. The change from "Trash" to
"Deleted Items" is a change in terminology, rather than a simple
translation of the original term. I think this divergence is what is
most worrying. If the powers that be decide that the C locale
terminology should be changed, then I would have no qualms at all about
the proposed translation.
