www.gnome.org's maintainer, Jeff (jdub), is currently writing a document
mapping the road ahead for w.g.o. I'm not sure what his plans are for the
software map. Yet since it is already showing its age (visually at least
it hasn't caught up with the rest of the site) I wouldn't be surprised if
Jeff decided/agreed to update it. Those ideas your described, Sri, could
then be incorporated in the new software map.

Your ideas are all good. I would recommend writing them up in some
document we can keep around, in web-devel-2 perhaps, and refer to.
Creating a new site from scratch, there's going to be a lot of things
(requirements, decisions...) to keep in mind. Something informal would do
just fine, as long as it's there for all to see.

GNOME's general mailing list for web work is gnome-web-list[1] and the IRC
channel is #webhackers.
