Hm. Can you support that claim?
If I am not mistaken, Beagle is pretty much asleep and Tracker is 
developed and used instead. At least in GNOME. I don't know about 
Ubuntu. But I think they dropped all Mono software (from their core, 
at least).

So I suggest you investigate that and then come back with an updated 
proposal.
