This week was pretty productive for me. I finished the tweaking the
Rhythmbox internals to get my UI set up how I wanted. I also built the
main plugin UI and have been working on populating it with data from
last.fm.
I have run into a bit of trouble here as the convenience function in
Rhythmbox for making asynchronous file requests is giving me problems
so I may have to do it manually.
This week I hope to get the data fetching problems sorted out early so
that I can focus on actually populating the panel with the data. This
will be the fun part where I get to build a really cool interface to
display the information. Once I get the main plugin functionality done
and start work no the interface I would like to get some feedback from
everyone on features to include and usability.
My git shortlog for the week is :
Refctored to right_* naming scheme. Added gconf schema entry for
right sidebar.
created new python plugin for context pane. Currently only shows
a treeview and some buttons
Merge branch 'master' of git://git.gnome.org/rhythmbox into contextbar
added parameter to shell.add_widget for expand and fill control.
Integrated webkit pane into sidebar
forgot to add binging file from last commit
new location for plugin UI elements: right side pane (bug #584182)
minor typo fixes
merged with head
fixed python bidings to be autogenerated
Made last.fm datasource for context plugin. Worked on getting
top-five songs for artist
I also published a git repo at http://gitorious.org/rhythmbox-context-pane
Good luck this week to everyone,
John Iacona
