[ordoquy ninja:~]> ls /opt/gnome2/lib/libpangoft2-0.25.so
/opt/gnome2/lib/libpangoft2-0.25.so
[ordoquy ninja:~]> pkg-config --modversion pangoft2
0.25
So, the answer to does pango compile is yes ;)
Before recompiling pango, remove config.cache and reconfigure it, it
sometimes helps.
If it doesn't solves,
check in the library directory if you have the libpangoft2-0.25.so
If not, search pangoft2.pc in the pango source tree. If it's not there,
tell me, I'll mail it to you.
