hmm
i installed XFree86-4.2.0 from slackware-current
i removed /usr/X11R6/include/freetype
i compiled my own freetype-2.0.8-i386-1tm package
i compiled qt-2.3.2
i compiled pango-0.25 again
but still i get this error message while compiling libgnomecanvas:
checking for gtk+-2.0 >= 1.3.12 libart-2.0 >= 2.3.8 pango >= 0.23 pangoft2 >= 0.23... Package pangoft2 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `pangoft2.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'pangoft2' found
configure: error: Library requirements (gtk+-2.0 >= 1.3.12 libart-2.0 >= 2.3.8 pango >= 0.23 pangoft2 >= 0.23) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.
did anybody succesfully compile gnome 2.0 beta?
