.cache/gdm/session.log is empty

My screensaver got in semi-unlocked state again and I have nothing in
session.log .
Does anyone have any pointers to where shell debug goes now?
$ wc /home/$USER/.cache/gdm/session.log
0 0 0 /home/$USER/.cache/gdm/session.log
