I remember gnome-terminal bugreports where people wanted two different
defaults for some setting. It went something like this:

GNOME 2.x: default off
bugreport: default should be on
GNOME 2.x+2: default on
bugreport: default should be off
GNOME 2.x+4: ?!?

Customer is always right or saying "customer" should have some say in
practice just has limitations.
