Wow.  Those replies.  No explanation.

Even if it has been discussed at length already, such comments were not in any way *against* the project. They were honest suggestions. Perhaps not inline with the vision of the project, but *say that*! Perhaps point to extensions, say "well, we'd rather not include this in the shell, but we have extension support, so someone could hack some code to do what you say". Give some sort of reasoning, even if it isn't up for debate, even if it's "that doesn't work with our design goals".

The GNOME Code of Conduct comes to mind.

I know you've done great work on the shell. I know this mailing list is not easy to deal with at times. But I hope that we can *all* carry out a certain level of respectful discussion, developers and users alike, especially on such an official channel for development.
