you have to options here
- autohide from http://www.fpmurphy.com/gnome-shell-extensions/
- or hide topbar in desktop mode - contact me on priv, I will send you
the current version
  (I hope to get it into gnome shell extensions whenever I find time
to write appropriate
   patch)
