Edit /usr/share/themes/Adwaita/metacity-1/metacity-theme-3.xml
Replace:
	<distance name="title_vertical_pad" value="13"/>
with:
	<distance name="title_vertical_pad" value="7"/>

and reload by pressing Alt-F2 and execute "r". This makes the theme much
more pleasant to me.
