Agree. Using additional methods of launchings
apps would mean something is lacking in the default environment.

I am using docky, too, for this purpose! But this should be a
built-in
feature of the shell, it is a much more consistent experience.
For
example, with docky I have to setup application launchers twice,
as well
as other customizations.
