Right, another way to look at it is that per-activity saving clashes
with the goal of application-controlled state saving[1] instead of
XSMP, which I believe is where we're heading.  Broadly speaking I
think we've been trying to set large scale application modification
outside of GNOME Shell's scope, but of course it's still interesting
to consider what we could do with targeted application modification.

[1] Think Firefox style, except without the restore dialog
