What don't you like about it in OSX?  I never really lived with it long enough (in Linux) to really know if it's good or not.

Still, no harm having it as an option, is there?

Do Java apps on OSX use the global menu?

IMHO, a characteristic case of having a global menubar just
is a pain for the maintainer ;-)
