Hi,
I was wondering about games inside of Gnome-Shell. So I investigated, I
installed Nexuiz. I first tried it out in a normal session. It worked
fine no problems (went full screen, no graphical latency). Then I tried
it out in Gnome-Shell, it went full screen but the top panel didnt hide
as it should in full screen and there was a lot of strain on the
graphics card and a little graphical latency.
My computer has a good graphics card (around 8 months old). The most
recent builds of Shell have been running very fast.
I just thought I should ask if there are any plans for minimalising
mutter and Gnome-Shell's GPU usage when a full screen applicataion needs
the GPU and mutter doesnt?
Is the top panel problem:
1. A problem with the program.
2. Is mutter doing something different to Metacity for full screen?
Regards
Shane Fagan
