Hello, and sorry for boring you,
It really don't work for me, I test and try all things since a week
(every days after work :-) )
So, to sum up, this is what I have (in 12 points) :
1. dmesg is ok
when I press hotsync
visor ttyUSB0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now disconnected
from ttyUSB0
visor ttyUSB1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now disconnected
from ttyUSB1
when I cancel hotsync
visor 3-1:1.0: device disconnected
2. lsusb says : "ID 0830:0061 Palm, Inc."
3. I've added this line to /usr/share/gnome-pilot/devices.xml
<device vendor_id="0830" product_id="0061" />
4. I've mounted the usb with (not in my fstab)
sudo mount -t usbfs none /proc/bus/usb/
5. ls -l /proc/bus/usb/ says :
dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 0 2006-03-06 23:08 001
dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 0 2006-03-06 23:08 002
dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 0 2006-03-06 23:08 003
dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 0 2006-03-06 23:08 004
dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 0 2006-03-06 23:08 005
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 0 2006-03-06 23:33 devices
6. ls -l /dev/ttyUSB* says :
crwxrwxrwx 1 root root 188, 0 2006-03-06 23:23 /dev/ttyUSB0
crwxrwxrwx 1 root root 188, 1 2006-03-06 23:23 /dev/ttyUSB1
7. pilot-xfer -p /dev/ttyUSB0 -l
works just 2 times ! but not 2 times consequently
8. install-user -p /dev/ttyUSB1
works just 1 times !
9. when I launch gpilotd, I've :
gpilotd-Message: gnome-pilot 2.0.13 starting...
gpilotd-Message: compiled for pilot-link version 0.11.8
gpilotd-Message: compiled with [VFS] [USB] [IrDA] [Network]
gpilotd-Message: Activating CORBA server
gpilotd-Message: bonobo_activation_active_server_register = 0
gpilotd-Message: Regarde Cradle (/dev/ttyUSB1)
gpilotd-Message: corba: get_pilots(...)
gpilotd-Message: corba: get_pilots(...)
gpilotd-Message: Client seems ok
gpilotd-Message: Client seems ok
gpilotd-Message: monitor_on(pilot_name="Tungsten E2",client_id =
IOR:010000001b000000...)
gpilotd-Message: corba:
notify_on(event_type=CONNECT,callback=IOR:010000001b000000...)
gpilotd-Message: corba:
notify_on(event_type=CONDUIT,callback=IOR:010000001b000000...)
gpilotd-Message: corba:
notify_on(event_type=DISCONNECT,callback=IOR:010000001b000000...)
... ... ...
... ... ...
(gpilotd:6505): gpilotd-WARNING **: pi_accept_to: Connexion terminpar
expiration du di d'attente
(gpilotd:6505): gpilotd-WARNING **: pi_accept_to: timeout was 100 secs
gpilotd-Message: setting PILOTRATE=115200
10. I've tryed a timeout of 2 secs in gpilotd-control-applet
and the result of gpilotd is the same
11. I don't have shaked the palm :-)
12. could you add this 12th point ? please, I'm very sad without this
sync !
To conclude, sorry for :
- boring you
- my poor english
- less of knownledge (I'm neebie with linux, but I Want to learn :-) )
- less of debug method
