Evolution would be the way to go.

It depends on what version of pilot-link you're using. If you use pilot-link 0.11.8, then you can
compile gnome-pilot and Evolution without any additional patches.

The patch required for pilot-link 0.12.x has been added to the bugzilla:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389664. If you take that patch and apply it directly to
any recent version of Evolution (2.8.2 should work), and then recompile Evolution it should work.
I'm hoping the patch will be applied in the near future (soon after the New Year is my guess).

Hopefully this is fixed in gnome-pilot 2.0.15 - a lot of stability and usability changes were
added between 2.0.13 and 2.0.15.

It looks like you'll be OK since you're using pilot-link 0.11.8 (i.e. no patches necessary). The
configure scripts in gnome-pilot will automatically detect that pilot-link 0.11.8 is being used.
Since Evolution currently only supports pilot-link 0.11.8, you'll be OK there too.

All in all, sounds like you need no patches, so just install gnome-pilot 2.0.15 (against the
pilot-link 0.11.8 you already have installed) and then rebuild the Evolution conduits against
gnome-pilot 2.0.15 (conduit source is located in addressbook/conduits and calendar/conduits).
You're definitely headed in the right direction.
