Network sync doesn't run without pluged USB (Palm TX)

Hi there,
iam using a Palm T|X. It works fine if usb is plugged.
Also the network sync works fine if usb cable is plugged in. By removing
usb my palm doesn't sync to gpilot anymore. If the sync is running i can
unplug the cable without errors and the sync is running with no errors.
It looks like the device must connected via USB to sync by network.
Iam running Debian/unstable, gpilot 2.0.12-1.4 and kernel 2.6.12
Can somebody help me please....
