Unable to bind....

I'm sync'ng my palm device over USB to gpilotd running on Fedora and
getting;

[briano localhost ~]$ /usr/libexec/gpilotd
gpilotd-Message: gnome-pilot 2.0.12 starting...
gpilotd-Message: compiled for pilot-link version 0.11.8
gpilotd-Message: compiled with [VFS] [USB] [IrDA] [Network]

(gpilotd:5415): gpilotd-WARNING **: Unable to bind to pilot
gpilotd-Message: setting PILOTRATE=115200

...

I can see physical connection being made between my palm device and USB,
for example, here's output from /var/log/messages;

Mar 16 20:41:29 localhost kernel: usb 1-1: new full speed USB device
using address 6

Here's my pilot settings;

[briano localhost ~]$ cat /home/briano/.gnome2/gnome-pilot.d/gpilotd
