It depends on the program/format, and usually the converters are
OS-specific.  For example, the Adobe PDF viewer requires the PDFs be
converted using their desktop tool before they can be loaded/viewed on
the handheld.  As for MP3s, it again depends on the player software you
happen to use.  Check the docs.
