Re: Synchronization failure / kernel 2.6.9

Nope, I did not find a build option that helps...

I have only the Palm (Tungstun E) in the USB, nothing else.

I suspect that the problem with the diagnosis is that there are more than one failures. Some Palms, I think mine is one, send the data in a format that the pilot-link devel group found funny. They just recently solved that problem, and put the solutions in the CVS files. The other problems, such as you had, are quite real as well.

Solving any one of them does not solve the whole problem, and leads the user to either give up, or go screaming into the night. At this point, I need to decide whether to gulp hard and build from the pilot-link CVS or wait for their fixes to wend their way through the Debian packages.

Thanks Again! for your help

Great, let us know if you find a kernel change that sorts you out.

As I'm sure you've found by now, there are plenty of reports of
the "control timeout on ep0in" bug. There was some discussion on this
list back in September. I haven't heard of a resolution, but it appears
likely that at least some of these problems are caused by faults in
other USB devices. You could try unplugging all USB devices except your
palm, and replacing any USB keyboards/mice with PS/2 versions if
possible.
